WASHINGTON – The Senate will hold a final vote on whether to acquit or convict and remove President Donald Trump from office on Wednesday after closing arguments Monday.

The final vote will occur at 4 p.m. EST, according to a spokesman for Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer.

The Senate’s business is not quite finished this evening. The Senate will vote on four Democratic amendments this evening.

Sen. Roy Blunt, R-Mo., said the final arguments on Monday, which is the day of the Iowa caucuses, will be a total of four hours, equally divided among the parties. Schumer’s office said speeches from senators will happen Monday and Wednesday.

The Senate voted Friday to reject subpoenas for witnesses or documents in the impeachment trial of President Donald Trump, clearing the way for a vote on the verdict.
