Actor Kirk Douglas, whose career spanned more than 60 years, died on February 5, 2020. He was 103 years old.

Tributes are pouring in following the death of Kirk Douglas.

The legendary icon and “Spartacus” star died peacefully at home early afternoon Wednesday surrounded by his children, grandchildren and his wife of 65 years, Anne Buydens Douglas, according to the actor’s longtime publicist Marcia Newberger.

Steven Spielberg remembered the late actor’s life-long charm.

“Kirk retained his movie star charisma right to the end of his wonderful life and I’m honored to have been a small part of his last 45 years,” Spielberg said in a statement to the Hollywood Reporter. “I will miss his handwritten notes, letters and fatherly advice, and his wisdom and courage – even beyond such a breathtaking body of work – are enough to inspire me for the rest of mine.”

Despite Kirk Douglas’ starring in dozens of films and defining the Golden Age of Hollywood, his son Michael said he will remember him simply as “Dad.”
