James Corden, Colbert, Jimmy Fallon react

Fallon reveals how long we'll have to wait for N.H. primary results

Late night hosts are reacting to the New Hampshire primary.

During Tuesday night’s episode of “The Late Late Show,” host James Corden brought his audience up to speed, showing off USA TODAY’s primary coverage.

“Wow, New Hampshire already, it feels like they just started campaigning 600 years ago,” he joked, before going after some of the candidates individually. “It appears Bernie Sanders is going to win, and if he does, Bernie plans to splurge on a big pigeon-feeding trip to the nearest park bench. It must be frustrating for Pete Buttigieg to lose New Hampshire since he literally looks like a new hamster.”

Sanders did beat Buttigieg in the first-in-the-nation primary Tuesday, a closer-than-expected finish that leaves the race for the Democratic presidential nomination still muddled. Sanders topped Buttigieg by about a point when the Associated Press declared him the winner just before midnight.

Jimmy Kimmel started off by roasting the primary process.

“It’s confusing, but the reason the primaries begin in Iowa and then go to New Hampshire is because it’s important that we know what the very whitest people think first,” he quipped during Tuesday’s episode of “Jimmy Kimmel Live!

Jimmy Fallon also recapped the primaries on “The Tonight Show” Tuesday, starting out with jokes aimed at former vice president Joe Biden, who finished in fifth place in New Hampshire.
