Actress Fran Drescher attends the premiere of 'Bridegroom' on Oct. 15, 2013 in Beverly Hills, Calif.

Fran Drescher is opening up about how she helped police identify her rapist.

During an interview with CNN, the actress, 62, discussed the 1985 home invasion in which she and her friend were raped at gunpoint while her then-husband, Peter Marc Jacobson, was “tied up and blindfolded.”

“I ended up, because I have a photographic memory, helping the police do the artist sketch of what he looked like,” she shared. “Based off of that, they were able to apprehend him.”

Though Drescher said it was “disheartening” the rapist was previously incarcerated and let go before his “rampage,” she said she has closure thanks to her attacker being convicted and sent to prison again.

“I have at least the closure, which a lot of women sadly do not have,” the actress added. “But I do, that he’s locked away now for good and will never do that again and I don’t have to think I see him every time I turn a corner.”
