Fallon explains why some in GOP don't want impeachment witnesses

The fate of the impeachment trial seems to be in the hands of two very prominent Washington insiders: Sen. Mitt Romney and ex-Trump administration national security adviser John Bolton.

Who would have thought, said late-night comic Jimmy Kimmel, that Romney would end up being a rebel? But as one of the few Republican senators who is insisting that the impeachment trial needs witnesses, and specifically needs to hear from Bolton, that’s exactly what Romney is doing. According to Kimmel: “The Mitt is about to hit the tan.”

Bolton’s book, “The Room Where it Happened,” is set to release in March. But key revelations from the tome have already been shared. Bolton, who is said to know first-hand about the president’s quid pro quo with Ukraine, also allegedly wrote about suspected favors from Trump for China and Turkey.

it would seem that information this important wouldn’t be ignored by the GOP. But Jimmy Fallon knows exactly why certain members of the Senate don’t want witnesses. Take a look at Best of Late Night, above, for his GOP excuse generator.
