In a statement to the outlets, Davis’ mother Nancy said she was heartbroken.
“Jason had a true heart of gold with such a zest for life. He was such a caring soul to everybody who ever knew him,” she said. “He loved his friends and his family above all else. We ask for privacy as we take time to grieve this most devastating loss.”
The cause of death remains unknown at this time.
Davis voiced Mikey Blumberg on the Disney Channel animated series from 1997 to 2001. He’s also known for the 1998 film “Rush Hour” and the 1997 film “Beverly Hills Ninja.” He also made appearances on “Roseanne” and “7th Heaven” in the ’90s.
According to the outlets, the late star appeared on “Celebrity Rehab with Dr. Drew'” in 2010 and 2011. He later co-founded the charity Cure Addiction Now, the outlets report.
Davis is also the grandson of billionaires Marvin and Barbara Davis. Marvin Davis, who died in 2004, was in the media sphere, at one time owning 20th Century Fox.
USA TODAY has reached out to Davis’ reps for comment.
Larry King was among those who paid tribute to Davis on social media.
“Saddened to learn of the passing of Jason Davis. Son of Nancy Davis. We watched him grow up.He was always kind. @shawnieora and I send our love and deepest condolences,” King tweeted.
The famed talk show host’s estranged wife Shawn King also posted about Davis’ passing.
“Heartbroken to hear of the loss of Jason Davis, son of Nebil Zarif, & my dear friend Nancy Davis,” she tweeted. “May you & the family find comfort in your most joyful memories together.”
Los Angeles Fox News anchor Christine Devine also tweeted about Davis, sharing a photo of them together.
“RIP Jason Davis (right). Really sad to hear of his passing. For some reason I always felt a soul connection with this kid,” she shared. “JUST TODAY I was chatting about him to hubby.”
