The XFL’s second weekend gets underway on Saturday with a matchup of undefeated teams kicking things off.
New York Guardians (1-0) at DC Defenders (1-0)
The Guardians relied on their staunch defense last week in a lopsided 23-3 home victory over Tampa Bay. Quarterback Matt McGloin and Co. will now take their show on the road to face the Defenders, who are coming off a 31-19 victory over the Seattle Dragons. Former Ohio State quarterback Cardale Jones completed 16-of-26 passes for 235 yards and a pair of touchdowns to pace the DC offense.
Kickoff: Saturday, 2 p.m. ET
Site: Audi Field (Washington, D.C.)
Tampa Bay Vipers (0-1) at Seattle Dragons (0-1)
The Vipers struggled in their opener with quarterback Aaron Murray at the controls. The former Georgia standout completed just 16 of his 34 passes for 231 yards and threw two interceptions in a 23-3 loss to New York. Dual-threat QB Quinton Flowers may get a longer look this week in Seattle. The Dragons kept things close in their opener at Washington, but turnovers ended up sealing their fate.
Kickoff: Saturday, 5 p.m. ET
Site: CenturyLink Field (Seattle, Washington)
