Spoiler alert! This story contains details from the Feb. 12 episode of “The Masked Singer,” including the identity of the eliminated celebrity.
Wednesday’s “Masked Singer” got romantic, celebrating love with a special Valentine’s Day-themed episode.
During the contestants’ clues packages, those close to them presented information about the celebs in costume. The competitors also presented valentines to the panel – well, all except Ken Jeong, that is. Jenny McCarthy, Robin Thicke, Nicole Scherzinger and guest panelist Leah Remini all got shout-outs from the remaining challengers: Kangaroo, Miss Monster, Turtle and White Tiger.
The V-Day episode also offered treats for its viewers, including a performance of Kiss’ “Rock and Roll All Nite” by all of the contestants and news that there would be a “Masked Singer” tour following the show’s finale. More information can be found at TheMaskedSingerTour.com.

Clues: Turtle’s former high school biology teacher spoke about the contestant in the clue package, which featured a map marking Seoul, an encased bat hanging upside down, as well as the Greek letters alpha and omega.
For his song, Turtle chose Shawn Mendes’ “There’s Nothing Holdin’ Me Back.” He dedicated his valentine to Scherzinger, telling her, “Hey Nicole, I’ll never forget the morning we spent together. It was turtle-ly awesome.”
Guesses: McCarthy predicted Nick Lachey donned the Turtle costume, while Remini envisioned Jaden Smith. The clues made Scherzinger think of Hunter Hayes.

Clues: Miss Monster’s clue package seemed to point hard to the Windy City, with pizza, a pair of white socks and a teddy bear hanging from a clothesline. A piece of material with a camouflage print was also present.
After crooning Lesley Gore’s “You Don’t Own Me,” the performer’s valentine for Thicke was read by the show’s host, Nick Cannon. “I only have eye for you,” the note read, referencing the costume’s singular eye. “We even had a rendezvous in Sin City.”
Guesses: Some of the panel had legends on their mind – Remini thought of Mary Wilson from the Supremes, while Scherzinger and Thicke envisioned Gloria Gaynor, whom Thicke said he’s met in Las Vegas. Interpreting the Chicago reference as a nod to the 2002 film “Chicago,” McCarthy guessed one of the movie’s actors, Queen Latifah.

Clues: Tips to Kangaroo’s identity were doled out by her younger brother, who mentions a one-year difference between them. While he admitted his sibling was a “drama queen in her teenage years,” he praised her for her strength. “When tragedy hit our family, she was the glue that held us all together,” he said.
After belting out “Diamonds” by Rihanna, Kangaroo revealed to Remini: “We’ve sat at the same table, and your courage has inspired me.”
Guesses: Jeong imagined Kangaroo could be model Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, while Scherzinger suggested Lindsay Lohan and McCarthy believed it could be Jordin Sparks. Both Lohan and Sparks have brothers about a year younger.

Clues: While some “Masked” participants are singers by trade, from his vocals and his clues, White Tiger appears to be an amateur.
“I knew going into this competition, I was never gonna be the best singer, but I wasn’t gonna let that stop me,” he said. “I’ve always known how to work a crowd. That’s been my strategy here, all along.”
During his clue package, viewers heard from his college roommate, who donned foam fingers behind a bar that displayed pats of butter, a landline phone and a coin. The roomie said he and White Tiger once posed as “professional dancers of the ‘Magic Mike’ variety.”
White Tiger’s rendition of “We Will Rock You” by Queen brought some in the audience to their feet. His valentine for McCarthy said, “Jenny, I’m wild about you, but I know your husband will appreciate this card even more.”
Guesses: Some guesses from the panel seemed off, including Jeong’s mention of Fabio and Scherzinger’s guess of Joe Manganiello. But, McCarthy and Thicke’s guess of Rob Gronkowski seems spot-on. The pats of butter could be a reference to Gronk’s former team, the New England Patriots, which McCarthy’s husband, singer/actor Donnie Wahlberg, is a fan of.
While Monster took first place on the inaugural season, Miss Monster’s time on the competition has come to a close.
Giving their final guesses, McCarthy and Remini double-down on their original thoughts – Queen Latifah and Wilson, respectively. While Jeong felt off-base throwing out Reba McEntire, Scherzinger and Thicke felt the singer was Chaka Khan, born in Chicago and singer on the album “Camouflage.”
Scherzinger and Thicke were right. Cannon said he knew the identity of the singer all along, while Thicke said his lack of confidence came from the artist not hitting “some of her signature notes.”
At the end of the show, Cannon, Scherzinger and Thicke enjoyed Chaka Khan’s unmasked performance from the front row.
