Atlanta Falcons quarterback Matt Ryan will be the featured speaker at the inaugural USA TODAY High School Sports Awards in Atlanta.
The event will take place on May 11 at the Atlanta Symphony Hall at the Woodruff Arts Center. The red carpet begins at 6 p.m., and the awards event starts at 7 p.m.
The event will honor the top high school athletes and teams over the 2019-20 school year from the Atlanta area.
Ryan, the 2016 NFL Most Valuable Player, has spent his entire 12-season pro career with the Falcons. He is a four-time Pro Bowler and is one of just 10 quarterbacks to throw for more than 50,000 career yards in league history. He is headlining the award show and will participate in a Q&A on stage.
Atlanta is one of three cities that will play host to the USA TODAY High School Sports Awards this year. The others are Los Angeles and Dallas.
