Everything the stars did at the after-party

HOLLYWOOD – The party didn’t stop when the Oscars telecast ended.

After the gold statues were handed out, stars headed straight for the glamorous Governors Ball, which was held just a few floors above where the Academy Awards took place.

The Governors Ball is the one Oscar party where almost everyone makes an appearance. It’s a must for winners, who get their statues engraved at a special area. And it’s a happening spot for everyone else to discuss the major events of the night, from history made by “Parasite” winning best picture to Joaquin Phoenix’s impassioned speech.

With guests imbibing tequila cocktails and negronis and digging into (70% plant-based) treats from Wolfgang Puck, here are all the celebrity moments you missed.

Laura Dern was the toast of the town

Laura Dern savors being an Academy Award winner, as her Oscar is engraved.

A man carried Laura Dern’s supporting-actress Oscar for her as she entered the party and made her way to the soiree’s engraving station. The area has become a strict no-media zone, which meant a publicist had to talk security into letting the “Marriage Story” star’s family in when they arrived a few minutes behind. Saying “this is Laura Dern’s daughter,” did the trick.

Dern exited holding a freshly engraved statue and made her way across the room where Ted Sarandos and the Netflix crew were hanging out. Dern squeezed into a banquette, rested her feet and caught up with her friends.

Renee Zellweger waits for her award for Best Actress in a Leading Role for "Judy" to be engraved as she attends the Governors Ball.

Greta Gerwig’s cup runneth over

Gerwig, who hung out with her parents at the Governors Ball, told USA TODAY the Oscars ceremony struck a chord, from the female composer’s win for the “Joker” original score to the powerhouse “Sigourney and Brie and Gal” presenting together.

(Sigourney Weaver, Brie Larson and Gal Gadot, introduced the Oscars’ first female conductor, Eimear Noone.)
